Emergency Fund and Shelter Program Board Announces Award

EFSP Application

The Abilene Area FEMA-Emergency Fund and Shelter Program Board announces the Phase XXVIII  award for $60,734. The announcement of funds for Phase 28 had been delayed pending Congressional action. Consequently, the application and review period will be short to enable the EFSP Board to get the funds into the hands of providers as soon as possible. The unemployment rate is  the primary basis for determining awards from the national program. The total funds for 2009, is  approximately $9,000 less than last year.. Human Service organizations and faith-based  organizations that provide emergency services relating to food and shelter are invited to apply for a  grant. The minimum grant is $300.


Applications must be submitted to the Abilene/Jones, Taylor County FEMA-EFSP Board by March 3,  2010. Applications should be mailed to FEMA-EFSP Board, P. O. Box 92, Abilene, TX 79604 or may be  delivered to 240 Cypress St, Ste. 200.
